On the 4 July 2009, the EU Regulation on F Gases will require Member States to ensure that only companies with duly certified technicians can purchase fluorinated gases for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump installations.

In the first quarter of 2009, ECSLA has welcomed 5 New Members : Mayekawa, the British Frozen Food Federation, the Associazione Italiana Industrie di Prodotti Alimentari, the French Union of Frozen Food Importers (SNCE) and the French Union of Frozen Food Producers (surgelés-glaces).
